Ben gave me this chinatown special, a caged-fake-bird-on-a-spring windchime. In the old apartment there wasn’t a good spot for it to pick up the breeze, so I never heard the clinquant notes of its little chimes. Installed it the other night in the new bathroom window and several times a day it perks up.

Also visible is the W.C. (Water Closet) tile I bought in Marrakesh. I assume that the text underneath is the equivalent message in Arabic—but who knows…
